Mel is not an endorser of Fender products but has played a significant role introducing musicians to new instruments and amplification in the Fender product line. Mel's idea was for demos to focus on the instrument and not the "name recognition" of the player. To accomplish this objective, Mel insisted on not showing his head or face in the videos. Next, Mel composed simple bass lines to inspire novice players at their local music stores. Mel's willingness to be an active presence on Fender social media inspired beginners and pros to join conversations surrounding the instruments.

Mel's last demo was published in late 2015, and to date these 32 influential YouTube videos collectively have generated more than 3.9 million views...and counting.
